Rewilding & Ecology days

A typical day, blending meaningful impact with team connection:

Warm Welcome at Dunsany Castle: Arrive to tea, coffee, and a short introduction.
Estate Introduction: Learn about the history of Dunsany Castle and our ongoing rewilding journey across the Estate.
Guided Estate Walk: Explore key landmarks, including the Abbey and ancient woodlands.
Eco Picnic - 3 course picnic lunch included ( all dietary requirements met)
Complete The Dunsany Challenge: Corporate Citizen Science challenge.
Tools, marquees, field loo, gloves and equipment provided - but dress for the weather!

€85 pp ( min 10) plus €22 for Gourmet food parlour 3-course picnic - total €1070 + vat 13.5%

Irish Trees – Our Team

Irish Trees is led by Bob Hamilton and John Doran, supported by a growing team bringing together expertise in ecology, zoology, botany and nature science, alongside graduate specialists, interns and researchers.

Working across The Lakeside Woodland near Naul and within the remarkable rewilding landscape at Dunsany Estate, the team combines practical restoration on the ground with science, monitoring and a deep understanding of the landscapes we work within.

We don't just plant trees. We help restore the ecosystems around them — creating more space for nature to recover and thrive.
