Handcrafted Oak Cremation Dome Urn – XLarge
Description
Our collection of Handcrafted Wooden Cremation Urns are painted with natural oil and are safe for the environment as no chemical varnishes are used.
This oak cremation urn is beautiful in its simplicity, elegance, and is in harmony with nature, with a hand-turned finial on the lid made from 5,000 year old bog oak from an ancient bog in Kells, County Meath.
The capacity of this Urn is 196 cubic inches. While funeral directors use a rule of thumb of 1 cubic inch per pound of body weight in reality the urn size is more about height. This is because due to the cremation process no soft tissue remains, just bone, this Urn has been used for adult males of 6'4'
All wooden urns are 100% biodegradable over time. We use hand carving techniques through the medium of wood-turning, combined with the different wood grain making each cremation urn exclusive and unique. This urn has been designed with a drawcord line that can be pulled out equally to allow lowering into a grave or interment plot. The lid for the urn can be sealed by placing a bead of silicon on the inside rim and pressing the lid into place. The handcrafted wooden cremation urn you receive may be slightly different from the one illustrated due to some natural variations in colour and grain.
The real skill is in being able to reveal the unique beauty of each piece of hand-picked wood. Due to the materials and their treatment, each urn is eternal when on display but biodegradable if set in the ground.
The Handcrafted Wooden Cremation Urns are delivered in a Biodegradable box surrounded by protective biodegradable beads which helps us all look after this little planet a little bit more. Since these wooden urns are handmade, your order may not be available to ship immediately. We will let you know the expected timeframe when your order is received.
