Design Influence
Next in stock Nov 24. If you are searching for an Urn that represents Ireland and being Irish, this
collection of Irish handcrafted Urns will make you proud. This elegant Irish Urn for ashes is named after the Calvary shrine in Omeath, a place of pilgrimage along Carlingford lough in County Louth.
The Calvary Urn is a piece of art in itself as it is a unique celebration of what it is to be Irish; proud, strong, elegant, and eternal. This design, created by one of our top artisans
Ciarán, is an interpretation of a
Celtic cross. It is interlaced with ancient knot-work with a Celtic sun ring behind it. The Calvary Celtic Cross Cremation Urn represents our Celtic and Christian identity which is so unique to
our Irish heritage. The Celtic knot on the collar represents how we are all bound together for eternity.
An optional extra with the Urn is a
handmade Oak plinth - Created by an Irish National award-winning
Wood turner. There is also an option to arrange an
engraving on request. See sample image.
Calvary Celtic Cross Cremation Urn Colour
The colours are earthy so they represent the timeless beauty found in the nature of Ireland.
Our artisan mixes his own glazes and calls this Slieve Foy Green, a mysterious deep green found in the moss and heather across the Mourne and Cooley mountains that surround his home. Other similar style Urns available with different symbols and colours.
Dimensions
- Height 24 cms or 9.5 inches.
- Width at widest point 15 cms or 6 inches.
- The capacity of this Urn is 196 cubic inches. While funeral directors use a rule of thumb of 1 cubic inch per pound of body weight in reality the urn size is more about height. This is because due to the cremation process no soft tissue remains, just bone, this Urn has been used for adult males of 6'4'
