This Cremation Urn for ashes design, is a one off glaze on the Claddagh - never to be repeated, so it is very special, is inspired by the famous Claddagh Ring and symbol of love, loyalty, and friendship. Cíarán has utilized his design skill to combine the local ancient heritage of Carlingford with the Claddagh symbol of love. A Claddagh of eternal and intertwining love.

The use of the triptych knot on the crown and spiral design on the heart borrows both from our pagan and Christian cultures, each symbolising eternity. A Celtic collar knot represents how the Irish are all bound together for eternity. This Urn has a beautiful feel and texture and you will clearly see the hand-thrown nature of the piece. An additional extra with the Urn is a handmade Oak plinth - Created by an Irish National award-winning Wood turner. There is also an option to arrange an engraving on request. See sample image.

Color of Cremation Urn

The colors are earthy, barley yellow, so they represent the timeless beauty found in the nature of Ireland. Our artisan mixes his own glazes and calls this Purple heather, a mysterious deep green found in the moss and heather across the Mourne and Cooley mountains that surround his home.     • Width at widest point 15 cms or 6 inches.
    • The capacity of this Urn is 196 cubic inches. While funeral directors use a rule of thumb of 1 cubic inch per pound of body weight in reality the urn size is more about height. This is because due to the cremation process no soft tissue remains, just bone, this Urn has been used for adult males of 6'4'
